I have been a grateful Redwood Writing Project devotee since my first Invitational Summer Institute in 1996, and I eagerly accepted the opportunity to serve as RWP's Tech Programs Director in 2000. I also teach undergraduate writing courses at Humboldt State University and serve as the English Department's Acting Director of Composition.

Since 1996, I have participated in four ISIs, and I've been a technoFiend for most of those intervening years, toodling on my own, benefiting from a steamy five days in Chico for TechMatters 2004, and serving a two-year term on the National Writing Project's TechLiaison Network (TLN) Leadership Team(Please note that any Writing Project techLeaning teacher can join the TLN to benefit from the tools, tips, and community support available.  This link will answer questions and provide access.)

My projects include websites, blogs, wikis, social bookmarking, and every other bit of technology with in I can dabble.  Although I am showing a great deal of restraint by not linking here to my every last technoProject, a wee bit of convincing could get me to trot out a string of URLs. . . .

And now for my answers to some bio-prompt questions
  • What is your least favorite word?  should
  • What is your favorite curse word?  shit (okay, and fuck--including variations like fucktard and clusterfuck)
  • What sound or noise do you love?  my partner's laugh, the soft squeak of a hinge
  • What profession would you like not to do?  anything Mike Rowe attempts on Dirty Jobs
  • What is your favorite era or style of music?  '80s technopop, big band, heavy metal
  • Who is your favorite author?  can't do it--too many--but list includes Christopher Moore and Michael Connolly  (Favorite Summer Novels: Kraken and The Passage)
  • What is your favorite television show?  Bones (most weeks, anyway)
  • What is your most surprising guilty pleasure?  I've never missed an episode of Survivor
